About Dr. Calabria

Offering Peace & Reassurance

Dr. Calabria was raised in Brockton, Massachusetts. Her love for animals developed at an early age when she visited her grandfather's farm in a nearby town. After graduating from Brockton High School, she was offered employment as a kennel attendant at a local veterinary hospital.  Duties included all aspects of kennel care, including grooming and bathing. Her devotion to the animals inspired her to work toward promotion as a veterinary technician.

While working as a veterinary technician, Dr. Calabria put herself through college at Bridgewater State University and achieved a B.S. in Biology and Biochemistry. After pursuing molecular research opportunities in higher education, she then obtained a Masters of Science degree in Biotechnology at UMass Boston.  That research focused on the study of molecular pathways involved in Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Calabria worked for a time at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research.  It was during this tenure that she came to the conclusion that her deep love of animals must be fully realized.  An application to veterinary school soon followed.

Dr. Calabria is a 2011 graduate of Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.  Since that time, she has been helping pets in private practice as well as though home visits.

Paws to Rest arose from Dr. Courtney Calabria's engrained empathy for suffering animals, as well as for pet parents making one of the most difficult - yet compassionate decisions of their lives.
